How did PogoStick get started?

Like all good ideas, it started in a humble garage somewhere down in South Brighton (located in an idyllic, and sometimes forgotten, part of Christchurch, New Zealand).

Looking for inspiration, I spotted the pogostick and thought that’s a cool name for a business. Well I sat on that amazing ‘eureka’ moment for a bit then thought I should actually put something into action and so the site was born and became the vehicle for offering a bunch of business services that are often out of the reach of the little guy – so being a little guy too I wanted to do something about that.

I haven’t bothered with a mission statement – it’s pretty simple really; do the best you can for your customers and they’ll keep coming back, and bring their friends!

What’s the PogoStick blog all about?

The blog really has nothing to do with web design or SEO – it’s more of a reporter who reports live from the scene, and that scene is the beautiful garden city of Christchurch, New Zealand. Since I live and work in Christchurch and have been here for over 15 years I feel just a little bit qualified to express opinions and reviews of what’s going on. I also tend to get involved in a lot of local activities so nothing like a first person perspective, especially when that person is armed with a camera that he’s not afraid to use. By the way, my wife is very good at telling me what’s happening and when, a little bit like having my own events manager. I love to hear from other residents of Christchurch, and swap notes on the good, bad and mundane of living in the biggest city in the South Island.
